The annual Georgetown Texas area Festival Of The Arts came to town June 2nd through 5th. The Festival Of The Arts always offers great opportunities to enjoy different composers. Last year compositions by Aaron Copeland were featured; this year the theme was Brahms in Georgetown, with events including concerts, artists, performances and more. The ones that cost money are WELL worth the small ticket price and the majority of performances all take place at Southwestern University while many of the lectures are held at the nearby Palace Theater as well as the Georgetown Public Library. Some years the Festival of the Arts also features a select movie event, such as “Songs of Love” a 1940’s film starring Katherine Hepburn at the City Lights Theatre –and much more to enjoy! The Festival Of The Arts truly captures the imagination, wonder, and immense talents from around the world, right here in our wonderful Georgetown Texas community.
My favorite Georgetown Festival Of The Arts event? The Concert in the Park, held at the San Gabriel Park, which is then followed by an impressive fireworks 
display. The Concert in the Park even features performances by our very own Georgetown High School band, chorus, and orchestra along with the Temple Symphony. It is quiet a delightful show featuring young talent right in our own Georgetown neighborhoods.
