Experience the Charm of Georgetown

April Market Days on the Square

From March through November, the 2nd Saturday of each month finds the historic Georgetown Square transformed into a market as vendors and activities for all ages fill the streets around the Square.  In addition to the unique speciality shops surrounding the Square, Market Days brings a variety of arts & crafts, handcrafted jewelery, speciality foods, handmade furniture and more, enticing shoppers as they stroll the area. For me Market Days highlights and celebrates the special qualities of our great community. A beautiful spring day provided the perfect backdrop for April Market Days inviting people to slow down and savor the day. Combining the variety of shoppping venues with the display of classic cars, the  Kids Express Train and the Ultimate Playzone, families, friends, and passer-bys were drawn into the small town charm of Georgetown.  Around the classic cars, conversations ranged from the sharing of memories associated with the cars to comparing notes on the mechanics and  maintenance.  Across the street children riding the Kids Express and the onlookers exchanged smiles and waves as the train circled the Square. Yes, Georgetown is an awesome place to live! And this month we have two special weekends, as next weekend is the Red Poppy Festival.
