The Seniors Living Smarter Seminar series continues to educate and inform you about many topics and our April seminar didn’t disappoint. You may have heard the phrase “Aging In Place “…what does it mean? Aging in Place refers to you living where you have lived (sometimes for many years) as you get older, with assistance from home improvements, in-home nursing, in-home care, meal delivery services and many more areas. Studies show that many seniors desire to stay in their home as long as they are able to, the improvements and resources that are available today allow them to do so while also improving their quality of life and independence. We had an amazing and knowledgeable group of panelists to answer questions and explain their individual resources. They are as follows:
Christi Buerger – Nurses Unlimited
Lauren McAndrews – Meals on Wheels, Opportunities of Williamson & Burnett Counties
Michelle Wilkerson – Faith In Action Georgetown
Randall Schleier – Martin Mobility
Sharon Easter – Encompass Home Health
Stacy Scarborough – Visiting Angels
Vivian Harris – Area Agency on Aging and Disability Resource Center of the Capital Area
We thank our panelists for their participation and sharing of resources.
Our Seniors Living Smarter Seminars aim to equip, educate, and inspire seniors and their families to make informed choices and empowered decisions concerning lifestyle goals. Seminars are presented on the third Thursday of every month at First Presbyterian Church from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.
