When you go visit the caverns, I would suggest wearing tennis shoes, or perhaps hiking boots if you have them, since the path can be slippery in some areas. Handrails are available in many areas, and our guide was careful to warn us when to watch our step. If you are worried about this not being a great enjoyment to overweight or elderly party members, you don’t have to worry, as there are tour options. For those wanting more adventure, I recommend doing the extended tour which includes extra time at the end to explore an area of the caverns on your own. Throughout the caverns the natural beauty is amazing. After a trip into the caverns you have a new appreciation of what you are driving over when you drive south of Georgetown on I-35.
