I just saw some statistics about attitudes of Baby Boomers as they approach age 65, and it’s not their parents’ retirement. Just consider these numbers from a recent survey by the parent company of Sun City developers, Del Webb:
- 62% of boomers are focused on activities and hobbies that enhance physical and mental well-being
- 51% plan to work longer to prevent boredom and maintain a sense of purpose
- 51% also plan to spend more time focused on family
- 46% like to work and do so for self-satisfaction
